Tips & Tricks

The products we sell are great quality and will provide years of enjoyment, but like any mechanical item, there are maintenance steps you should take to ensure peak performance. Here are a few tips we have picked up over the years:

  1. Oil Changes – the majority of these engines do not have oil filters, so it is very important to regularly chain your oil. We recommend changing the initial oil after 5 hours of use, then every 20 hours after. Use a good quality 15W40 oil.
  2. Clean Gas – ethanol is the enemy of small carburetors. You will save yourself a lot of headache if you only run/store ethanol-free gas in your engine. Use it in your lawn mowers and other small engines as well – you will thank us later! To find ethanol-free gas near you, you can visit https://www.pure-gas.org/index.jsp?stateprov=GA
  3. Spark plug – the factory spark plug will last at least 6 months, but we recommend swapping for a quality NGK or similar plug.
